Project management has always been about leading teams. Product owner, design, designer, developer, copywriter. The results of such tools allow accountants and business managers to manage the business.
But when are all these tasks done by one person? When does a freelancer do it?

Agree on the briefing. What if the customer meant something else? Very often it happens that the business proposal has a wrong focus and things could be easier in one place and require more attention in another.

Keep the cost estimate realistic. Are arrangements scheduled during the time? What about rounds of corrections? Being finished with the work also does not mean that the customer has accepted it.

When the customer has a fixed budget but expects more service?

Is it clear to the customer that certain deadlines will only be met if necessary material is provided on time?

Clarify additional work at milestones. Corrections can get out of hand, requiring you to stop work and sit down with the client, because many corrections clearly indicate that the original brief was incorrect or out of date.

Clear criteria for when a project is complete. The agreement must ensure that the customer is informed about the ongoing project and can sign off on it at a certain point in time. If further additions are required, then we will start with version 2.0. New project.

Is the additional effort clearly described in the invoice? Is there a reference to the protocol that the customer agreed to at the time?
Change management
Keeping time can be very distracting and a lot of work leads to not being kept. In the heat of the moment, it happens that tasks take longer than first agreed with the client. Ideally, at this point, an experienced freelancer would inform the client of the complication and get buy-in for the extra effort.
But how often does this happen?

Project report
Clarity is the best conflict avoidance. Everyone always knows what the other expects, and as little as possible is a guess.
Does the customer know where we stand? That the possible delay is due to the corrections or waiting for the material?
If a design was agreed at the beginning, but only now the content comes and it does not fit. Adjusting the design is an addition, not a correction.
